The Story
In partnership with Powder Art Foundation, Excetera helped translate the Foundation’s commitment to public land art, ecological stewardship, and site-responsive practice into a seamless digital experience.
Excetera saw an opportunity to transform the web journey into an access point for the immersive artworks embedded across Powder Mountain’s 12,000 acres. The experience provides residents and prospective visitors with cultural context, intuitive navigation, and spatial clarity, while preserving the primacy of the landscape and the artists’ vision.
The result is a digital system that extends the Foundation’s mission beyond the physical site, supporting exploration, and meaningful engagement with the prized alpine landscape.
Built for Discovery
We built a bespoke navigation system designed to spotlight the collection across a distributed digital exhibition. Fluid navigation components were designed to contextualize, not decorate. Inspired by PAF’s ethos of active viewing and discovery across a living exhibition site, the interface guides visitors through the collection with light-touch motion, and a transparent housing architecture.
Interactions stay intentionally quiet, supporting exploration while preserving the real world primacy of the landscape and the work.

We were able to build on the foundation's unique identity through an exploration in clear navigation that provides context. The Powder Art Foundation gained a digital presence that positions culture as a defining pillar of the Powder Mountain experience. It invites residents and visitors alike to explore, discover, and engage with art as an integral part of life on the mountain.
